INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTING A NEW ORGANIZATION'S INFORMATION
Please read these instructions in their entirety before posting a listing
Duplicates:
Please search the database for your organization before posting a new listing. It's possible another employee of your organization, a parent or another partner may have posted your information. If your information is already posted, please use the "Information Update" box to inform the webmaster. If you would like to extensively edit/revise the information, please send an information update stating that you need to extensively revise the information, and a COMPASS employee will contact you.
Information Review:
Before your posting will go "live" a COMPASS employee will review your information for typos, appropriateness and ease of understanding. COMPASS reserves the right to delete any information that it deems inappropriate, to remove a posting without explanation, or to re-organize the information for optimum searching.
Updating Information:
If you would like to update your posting in any way, please use the "Information Update" box on your organization's page. COMPASS may also occasionally send an e-mail to all e-mail contacts in the database asking them to review and update their information.
Posting Information:
Organization:
Please post the entire name of your organization. If you organization uses both an acronym and a full name, please spell out the full name and then after, in parenthesis, add the acronym. i.e. "California Highway Patrol (CHP)". This will allow users to find your organization using either the acronym or the full name.
Category:
Please check off all the categories that your services fall under.
Contact Person:
Please list the most appropriate contact as a point of entry for receiving services. This may either be a services coordinator, a receptionist or a referral line.
Address 1 and Address 2:
Please list your primary/corporate organizational address here. If you have multiple locations and addresses, you may use the "Additional Info" box below to list all your additional locations.
City:
Please be sure to correctly spell the city you are located in. If you are located in a sub-area of San Diego City (or another city) you may list the neighborhood/area in parenthesis after the official city name. i.e. "San Diego (Mission Valley)"
State:
Please abbreviate your state - California should be CA, etc.
Zip:
Please only provide your 5 digit zip-code.
Phone/Fax:
Please list the primary phone and fax for your organization. This phone number should ideally coincide with the contact person listed above. Please use the following format: xxx-xxx-xxxx.
E-mail:
Please list the primary e-mail for your organization. This should be an e-mail address that is checked frequently and can relay parents to appropriate contacts or provide them with answers/information directly.
Website:
Please list your organization's website using the following format: http://www.yourorganization.org
Age Range Serviced:
Please indicate the age range that you provide services to. Please be as specific as possible.
Disability/ies Served:
Please list ALL of the disabilities your organization serves. Please refer to the list below and use the designations as we have outlined them. This will create uniformity in the database and will allow parents to search more accurately by disability. If you serve all disabilities, please copy all the disabilities listed and paste them into the "Disability/ies" served field.
Restrictions:
Please describe any restrictions your organization has for offering or accessing services.
Cost:
Please describe if there is a cost associated with your service(s) and, when possible, what the cost is.
Language:
Please list all languages in which services are offered.
Description of Services:
Please provide a description of the services offered by your organization. It is often most helpful to parents for you to start with a basic description of your mission. Then provide headers listing the service, and bit of detail about the services offered.
Additional Info:
Please add any additional information you'd like to share with parents or those viewing your page.
